Tigersharks ASC - Start the new season with five reasons to celebrate!

Tigersharks swimmers got off to a fantastic start of the season in October with five swimmers recording National Qualifying times for 2009. The five swimmers have notched up 12 new times between them.

Following a horrible injury last season, Aaron Lee has stormed back to claim his first NQT for 2009 in the 100m Backstroke. Lee recorded a time of 1:00.48 in the National Inter County Team Gala on Sunday to make his mark. He will now set his sights on his two other main events the 50m Back and 50m Fly.

Alex Jones, Dean Williamson & Sophie Hawkins all notched up three new NQT’s each at the Lincoln Open Meet.

Jones set his mark in the 200m & 400m FC and 200m IM. He also cruised to the 100m FC the next day at the National Inter-County gala.

Williamson landed his times in the 200m FC, 100m & 200m Fly, the 100m Fly was also a new club record.

Sophie swam easily inside the 50m, 100m & 200m FC mark to get her 2009 campaign off to a great start. At the County Team gala the next Day Sophie smashed the Junior Wiltshire County Record as she recorded a fantastic time of 57.75 in the 100m Frontcrawl.

Meanwhile Jazmin Carlin has been representing Wales in the Youth Commonwealth Games in India. Following an incredible season last year Jaz recorded her first three NQT’s for 2009 in the 100m, 200m & 400m Frontcrawl. Jazz has also been selected to for Great Britain in the European Short Course competition in Croatia in December.

A wonderful start for Tigersharks with the hope of many more qualifiers to come.
