TIGERSHARKS C – ON TOP FORM

Tigersharks C team were in excellent form this weekend at the final round of the Summer League. Facing an A team from Devizes and B team from Wroughton, the C team were not at all phased. Following a very weak first round and a much better performance in round two the team found themselves bottom but by only two points. To avoid relegation the young sharks would have to swim on top form.

They certainly did this by producing sixty-nine personal best and relay best times. Amy Thrush (11) and Alex Lee (12) produced huge personal best times when they found themselve swimming in the Open 100m Butterfly (Amy) and 100m Freestyle (Alex). With first places recorded by Daniel Forder (2), Paul Chilcott, Tristan Ireland, Gemma Johnson (2), Shannon Pink, Jessica Shakles and Amy Thrush. Added to relay wins from, Girls 11/U Free and Medley (Amy Thrush, Shanon Pink, Olivia Gingell and Melissa Cheetham), Girls U/15 Free (Louise Wadsworth, Rachel Evans, Rebecca Dixon-Steele and Emma Wakefield) Girls 13/U Free (Rebecca Dixon-Steele, Emma Wakefield, Gemma Johnson and Louise Wadsworth) and the Boys 13/U Free (Tristan Ireland, Connor Shakles, Ben Richardson and Andrew Hitchcox), this was enough to secure second place on the night.

Team captains Paul Chilcott and Jess Shakles (both individual winners on the night) stepped up to collect the second place overall award to confirm that Tigersharks C had done enough to avoid relegation next year.
