DOUBLE DELIGHT

Tigersharks were celebrating a double whammy this weekend. Following two really tough rounds of the Speedo League where Tigersharks swimmers were in outstanding form it has been confirmed that they will be in the Premiership A Final. Tigersharks are the only Wiltshire team to qualify for this prestigious final. The final takes place on December 10th 2007 at Millfield School and looks to be a difficult draw for the young team. They will however rise to the challenge and swim the very best they can.

On Saturday Tigersharks learned that they had beaten off the challenge of four other clubs to be named Wiltshire Club of the Year for the second year in succession. This is an outstanding result for our club. This year we have been top in Wiltshire at every competition / event we have entered. Once again we have won the Winter and Summer League’s. We were top club at the Wiltshire Age Groups and retained the Dave Skittral Top Relay Team trophy. We already know that we are the top placed Wiltshire Club. We were placed Top in both the Regional Youth and BagCat Competition and also at the National Age Group competition in July. We also had more Regional and National Age Group Qualifiers than any other Wiltshire Club.

Following the conclusion of our Club Championships this month we are sure things can only get better with some outstanding talent being recognised in our 7, 8 & 9 year olds. With 7 and 8 year olds qualifying for Counties early and 9 year olds gaining District Qualification. Congratulations Tigersharks!

Kane Baker (12) also proved a force to be reckoned with in the 400m IM as he rocketed to a new AGBT and a 1st place in the 11/12 years age group. Eleanor Hussey (12) produced an outstanding time of 5:28 to take an easy first place and new AGBT in her swim.

Briony Merritt was outstanding in the 800m FC as she smashed the AGBT in the 12 years with a superb swim in a time of 10:02. Briony also took first place in the 11/12 years age group and the U/13 Championship.
