Tigersharks Youth swimmers finished there Wiltshire Championships on a high this weekend with more startling performances. Alex Jones landed another double in the men’s championships as he struck Gold in the 200m IM & 200m Breast. Dean Williamson continued his domination of the fly events as he took the championship Gold in the 200m Butterfly. From 17 Championship swims to date Tigersharks boys have won 11 of those events, 3 have gone to Trowbridge and 3 to Swindon Dolphin. A massive achievement for the Boys. Sophie Hawkins continued on her winning streak as she took the 50m Backstroke and 100m FC titles in the Senior Age group. Emily Weston produced yet another stunning swim in the 100m FC to just miss out on her first ever National Qualifying time as she powered to a time of 1:01.39 and 2nd place in the Junior Championship. Rosie Broad maintained her hold on the Butterfly titles as she snatched the 200m Junior title. Jacob Roberts rounded off a very successful championships when he produced an outstanding swim in the 200m Individual Medley to easily take the Junior title. He also took silver in the Junior 50m Back, Bronze in the 200m Breast and 5th in the 100m FC. Thomas Howitt lowered his 100m FC time again to take Silver in the Junior Championship and Sam Clayton had an outstanding swim in the 200m IM to take Bronze in the Senior Championship. Aaron lee and James Magness were 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 50m Backstroke Championship and Rachel Russell and Stacey Wood were 2nd and 3rd in the 200m Fly Championship. Bagcats – Start their campaign! The next day Tigersharks younger swimmers began their campaign. Zoe Gridgman who has just turned 9yrs screeched to a fabulous silver in the 50m Backstroke, Freya Weston took Bronze in the 10yrs and Sophie Roberts and Emily Weston took Gold and Silver respectively in the 13yrs. Thomas Howitt, yet again set a new PB in the 100m FC along with the silver medal. along with Silver in the 200m Butterfly & Bronze in the 200m IM. Daniel Jones 9yrs was just unstoppable in the boys 9yrs as he took Gold in the 50m BK, 200m IM and 200m Fly. 9year old Ryan Gooch produced fabulous swims in the 200m Fly and 200m IM to take silver in both events. Tayla Howie swam a superb race in the 200m Fly to take Gold and produced a massive PB in the 200m IM to claim the Silver medal. Adam Brown was absolutely outstanding in the 200m Fly to swim to Gold and improve his Regional time by five seconds in a time of 3:12.60. Adam also gained a great bronze medal in the 200m IM. Sophie Roberts marched swiftly to Gold in the 50m BK and produced a fabulous swim in the 100m FC to take silver in a time of 1:02.77 - Emily Weston was the Golden girl in the 100m FC and 200m IM and claimed Silver in the 50m BK. Michaela Boniface was thrilled to land her first Regional QT for 2009 in the 100m Breast as well as the Silver medal and Alex Eburne added another Regional QT to his list in a great 200m IM swim. Alex also took silver in the 200m Butterfly. Kyle Gaskin swam outstandingly well to take Bronze in the 100m FC and 200m Butterfly. Sami Donmez snatched Bronze in the 50m BK and Abigail Davidson swam a great race in her favoured 200m Butterfly event to record a Regional Qualifying time and take the Bronze medal. Fast improving Elliot Willoughby swam to a Bronze medal in the 100m Breaststroke and also produced a massive PB in the 100m FC.
