Tigersharks Jazz Carlin Smashes another Wiltshire County Record &
is selected for the British National Squad!

It seems no task is too big for Jazmin Carlin!

Swimming for Wales in the Celtic Tri-Nations last weekend Jazz smashed her own County record by a massive 12 seconds to record a time of 8:32.53 in the 800m Frontcrawl.

In recent months Jazz has also lowered her own standard on the 200m and 400m Frontcrawl putting her right up there with the best in the country.

Her 800m time now places Jazz third fastest in Great Britain. She has been targeted as a real contender for the Olympics in 2012 and at this rate her place in the team is more than a possibility. Her latest triumph is to have just been selected as a member of the British National Squad. There is no higher accolade in this Country for a swimmer where we recognise an athlete’s ability.

Now training with her American Coach Bud Mcallister at the Swansea Performance Centre, Jazz seems to be going from Strength to Strength. Jazz will be looking forward to the Trials in March and Nationals in August. She will also be training hard for the Commonwealth Games in 2010 where she will hope to be swimming for Wales for the second time.

However Jazz never forgets her roots and she will be back swimming with her Tigershark Team mates tonight at the Final of the Winter League.
