Tigersharks Jazmin Carlin has put herself in real contention for a place on the GB team for the World Championships in Rome this year. Following a phenomenal 5 days at the British Championships last week, Jazmin has left British Swimming in no doubt just how good she is. Swimming in the 200m, 400m and 800m FC, Jazz not only swam to personal best times in all three events but also claimed a Championship medal in each one. In the 800m FC, Jazz posted a time of 8:30.12 to claim the silver medal behind World Record holder Rebecca Adlington. In doing so she beat Olympic Open Water Silver medallist Keri-Anne Payne. The 200m FC and 400m FC races saw her in incredible races against two of Great Britains top FC swimmers Joanne Jackson and Rebecca Adlington. The 400m FC race was incredible with both Jackson and Adlington swimming inside the World record with Jackson just taking the glory. Jazz was not going to let them get away and she swam to a fantastic time of 4:06.19 putting her third fastest in the country and claiming a bronze medal. The time was also a British Age Group Best time for 18 year old girls. The 200m FC event saw Jazz notch up yet another fantastic swim and PB, another British Age Group Best time for 18 year old girls, a bronze medal and more importantly a time that places her fourth in Great Britain. Jazz has a real chance of booking her place on the flight to Rome to swim in the 4 x 200m FC relay team. After racing in three 200m, two 400m and the heats of the 800m FC Jazz was understandably starting to feel the effects. However she showed her incredible strength as in the final of the 800m FC, Jazz posted a time of 8:30.12 to claim the silver medal behind World Record holder Rebecca Adlington. In doing so she beat Olympic Open Water Silver medallist Keri-Anne Payne. Jazz never forgets her roots at Tigersharks and the coaches & swimmers who have helped and supported her. She is a consistent supporter of her Tigershark Team-mates and we are very proud of her achievements.
