Tigersharks Swimmers are dominant for Swindon at National Competition!

Tigersharks swimmers were top of the crop at this years National Competitions.

Aiko Takahashi kicked off their campaign with an outstanding performance throughout the week. Swimming in six events Aiko produced personal best times in five of her races. Her Butterfly and IM events proving to be strength this year. Aiko saved her best swim for last when she powered her way to 5th place in the 400m Individual Medley in yet another personal best time. Following her performance Aiko has been selected for the ASA Talent Development Programme.

Alexander Jones was in outstanding form particularly in his Frontcrawl events, Jones powered his way to a silver medal in the 400m FC and a Bronze medal in the 200m FC producing outstanding times in both events. His time of 1:51.50 in the 200m FC now rank’s him 2nd in the country for his age group. Jones will be joining City of Leeds Swim Club in September when he starts University. Jones also produced a personal best time in his 200m IM but withdrew from the 400m IM on the final day to concentrate on his 200m FC final.

Dean Williamson was also in fine form. He narrowly missed the bronze medal in the 200m Fly as he cruised to a new personal best time and 4th place. He was obviously disappointed not to grab the bronze but was very happy with his performance. He also produced outstanding swims in the 100m Fly and 400m FC (choosing to drop the 200m FC) where he made the semi final of the 100m Fly. Williamson will be joining the Loughborough Swim team in September as he also moves on to University.

Sophie Roberts and Sophie Hawkins were also in the mix at the National Youth event both swimming very well to produce good swims. The results from Tigershark swimmers this year at Regional and National level were outstanding with many real prospects for next year’s competitions waiting to take the honours.
