TIGERSHARKS ON THE ROAD TO BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS & NATIONAL AGE GROUP COMPETITION!

Dean Williamson & Sophie Hawkins strike it lucky at Crawley K2 Early Bird Open Meet!

Tigersharks swimmers competed this weekend at the Crawley Early Bird Open Meet with hope of achieving National and Regional Qualifying times for 2008. Star performers were Dean Williamson and Sophie Hawkins.

Williamson is the only Tigershark swimmer at present who has qualified for the British Championships in April. He already has four qualifying times at 200m & 400m Frontcrawl and 100m & 200m Butterfly. This weekend he is hopeful that he has secured his first National Age Group time in the 100m Butterfly. However the times have not been released yet so he will be keeping his fingers crossed that he has done enough!

Sophie Hawkins was on a high following here 400m Frontcrawl swim at the first round of the Club Championships where she produced a time well inside her NQT for 2008. Sophie continued in the same way this weekend when she streaked to fantastic times in the 100m & 200m Frontcrawl again well inside the current National times.

Aaron Lee, Natalie Montezuma, Briony Merritt, Sam Clayton, Kane Baker and Thomas Howitt all produced fine swims to se new personal best times over many events. With the new season just underway in terms of qualification Tigersharks can hopefully look forward to a bumper year with many more swimmers qualifying for Nationals and Regional's well before the closing dates next year.

The coaching team were pleased with the swimmers attitudes and  performances.
