Tigersharks in cracking form in Salisbury and Sheffield!

Five of Tigersharks young swimmers made the journey to the Level 2 Salisbury Open Meet this weekend.
All five swimmers were in great form producing some excellent swims and PB’s on the way.
Nine year olds Abbie Crook, Tivy Durrant and Lucy Gotta teamed up with eleven year old Megan Campbell & thirteen year old Samantha Reeves.

Top performer was 9year old Abbie Crook who cruised to 4 Gold medals and top 9 year old Girl.
Megan Campbell (11 years) snatched a Gold and a silver while Tigersharks up and coming pocket rocket Tivy Durrant who has just turned 9yrs came away with 2 Gold's and 2 Silver medals.
Lucy Gotta also 9yrs rose to the occasion with silver and a hat trick of Bronze medals while Samantha Reeves who has just turned 13yrs cam home with a well deserved bronze in her favoured event of the 200m Backstroke.
A superb outing for the girls with some very promising talent emerging for the coming season.

Meanwhile at the Lincoln Vulcans Level 1 LC open meet the swimmers were performing just as well. Abigail Davidson, Rebecca Flack & Rebecca Cook all recorded Regional times for 2011 and scooped many medals along the way. Rebecca Cook smashed the 100m & 200m Breaststroke 11/U Club records which had been held since 1995 as she edges towards her 1st NQT. Craig Harris, Conor Keye & Momoko Takahashi were also in outstanding form pocketing Regional times and top three places throughout the day.

Alex Eburne who has battled a poor season last year seems to have turned the corner and then some as he produced huge PB times on every event he swam this weekend. Jacob Roberts and Aiko Takahashi produced times on the 100m BK & 100m Fly respectively leaving them very close to their first NQT’s of 2011. Other swimmers setting 2011 Regional times were Sam Clayton, Thomas Howitt, Chris Chapman, Matthew Magness, Sophie Roberts, Sophie Hawkins, Michaela Boniface & Emily Weston.
The following day six of Tigersharks swimmers competed very well in the National County Teams event. Thomas Howitt, Matthew Magness, Elliot Willoughby, Sophie Hawkins, Sophie Roberts & Aiko Takahashi were in great form helping the team to a great 6/19 team place. The efforts of the team were not quite enough to gain promotion back into division 1, but a good effort from all.
All in all great performances from the Tigersharks Team of swimmers so early in the season.
