Tigersharks Scoop Top Honours

Tigersharks have been rewarded for their outstanding achievements during 2005 – 2006 with three of the top awards in Wiltshire Swimming.

Following the outstanding success Tigersharks have enjoyed this year They were voted Wiltshire Club of the Year. Over the past 12 months Tigersharks have returned the best results for many years:- Top Wiltshire Club in the Speedo League Western, Top Wiltshire Club at the District Competition, Top Wiltshire Club at the National Competition and for the first time in five years they became overall winners of the Wiltshire Moonraker Summer League.

Tigersharks numbers have increased by nearly 30% over the past 12 months with many past swimmers returning to the club and many swimmers choosing to join Tigersharks from other clubs in the County. The Coaching team has grown in strength and the administration and support from the committee has been second to none. Tigersharks have run many outstanding Open Meets over the past 12 months with Clubs as far a field as Cornwall and Newcastle attending over and over again.

To go along side the accolade of Club of the year Tigersharks swimmers have also scooped both the Boy and Girl swimmer of the year a truly outstanding achievement for the Swindon based club. Jazmin Carlin was voted Wiltshire Girl swimmer of the year and Alexander Jones was voted Wiltshire Boy Swimmer of the year. Both of these swimmers have had outstanding years culminating in gold medals at the National Competition in July. Jazmin also competed in the Commonwealth Games for Wales in Australia in March, where she was a finalist in the 800m Frontcrawl.

The next year will clearly be a tough act to follow in 2007 but it is a challenge the swimmers, coaches and committee are ready to take on.
