Surprise visit for Tigersharks Distance Swimmers ![]() Following the completion of Tigersharks distance events in their Club Championships on Sunday, Tigersharks swimmers were delighted to receive a visit from double Commonwealth medal winner Jazz Carlin on Monday. Having just flown back into the country that morning Jazz came along to the National Squad session with her medals to talk to the younger swimmers about her experience in at the Delhi Games. Amid much excitement from the younger squad members Jazz sat patiently through photographs, autographs of numerous objects and a bombardment of questions and answers. With a change in the competition events from British swimming the Girls no longer swim the reverse long distance events. Good news for the girls who will now swim 800m FC as their longest pool event not so great for the young boys who now have to jump from 400m FC to 1500m FC. However the change did not faze any of the swimmers who all produced massive PB times on their swims. The swimmers had swum the distance events the evening before & Girls Age Group Best Times went to Abbie Crook (9), Momoko Takahashi (10), Rebecca Cook (11) & Sophie Hawkins (17). Conor Keye (11) broke Dean Williamson’s 1500m FC AGBT in a superb effort over the longer distance. Momoko took gold in the 10/U age group, Rebecca Cook in the 11/12, Aiko Takahashi in the 13/14 and Sophie Hawkins in the 15/Ov girl’s age group. Alex Eburne was the top boy in the 11/12 age group to take gold, Elliot Willoughby was victorious in the 13/14 & Joe Keslake in the 15/Ov. All are pictured with Jazz Carlin and her medals (Momoko Takahashi not pictured). Full results can be found at www.tigersharks.co.uk 13th October 2010
