Sx3 make an impact at the ASA South West Region Youth ChampionshipsElliot Willoughby

Tigersharks & Wroughton swimmers were out in force this past weekend at the ASA South West Regional Youth Competition at Millfield School. Swimming for Sx3 they produced some outstanding performances.

Dean Williamson was the top performer as her scorched to victory and the Gold medal in the 200m Butterfly with very little trouble. He also snatched Bronze in the 50m & 100m Fly, 5th in the 50m Breast & 100m Breast.

Team Mate Alex Jones was also in fine form as he came home with four silver medals in the 200m & 400m FC & IM. A fine performance considering he had not swum for ten days due to a shoulder injury.

Sophie Roberts & Sophie Hawkins both swam well all weekend and found themselves in the final of the 50m Back where they both finished a creditable 6th in their Age Groups.

Jacob Roberts swam to less than a second outside his first ever NQT in the 100m Back and with just two more opportunities available he will be keeping everything crossed for a great swim.

Kieron German, Sam Clayton, Kyle Gaskin, Chris Chapman & Tom Ryczanowski all produce personal best times over the weekend. Tom Howitt produced some huge improvements on his LC times particularly in the FC events.

Melissa Glass, Ella Luffman, Rosie Broad, Charlotte Langley, Georgina Mason, Daisy Smale, Emily Weston & Bethan Webster were all in top form swimming to personal best times during the weekend. Michaela Boniface was a stand out swimmer as she also rocketed to huge reductions in her LC times.

Aiko Takahashi & Matthew Magness who are both still BagCat swimmers swam very well all weekend. Aiko clocking up two LC National QT’s and Matthew adding yet more Regional times to his now almost complete set.

The attention now turns to the BagCat competition in June where Sx3 currently have sixteen swimmers competing with a further four hopefuls from two more competitions in May. Elliot Willoughby, 13 yrs (pictured above) will be making the journey for the first time this year. A testament to his hard work and dedication to reach Regional standard.
