Tigersharks Club Championships 2009

Daniel, Momoko & RebeccaTigersharks rounded off it’s annual Club Championships last night at the Link Centre with the 1500m FC event.

In all Tigersharks swimmers smashed 52 AGBT & CBT, taking records of some of the Tigershark greats such as Grant Turner & Jazmin Carlin.

Sophie Hawkins lead the way breaking a phenomenal 19 records. In fact Sophie only failed to break one record, 50m BR, of all the events she entered. Alex Jones and Dean Williamson broke 12 & 11 records respectively, with Aiko Takahashi taking 3, Sophie Roberts, Daniel Jones and Momoko Takahashi 2 each and Adam Brown 1. Sophie, Aiko, Alex and Dean all swam times well within the new NQT for 2010.

Ross, Oliver, Rebecca & Abbie9 year olds Momoko Takahashi, Rebecca Maddocks & Daniel Jones all recorded times inside the Regional QT’s for 10 year olds for 2010. Too many swimmers to mention scored Wiltshire QT’s and many swimmers also swam well within Regional times for 2010. Bethan Webster (15) swam inside her first ever Regional QT she will be hoping to repeat this at the L2 James Monroe Open Meet this weekend.  Pictured above: Daniel, Momoko & Rebecca.

Up and coming swimmers to watch are 8 year olds Tivvy Durrant and Abbie Crook, 9 year olds Ross Kennedy & Adam White, 10 year olds Rebecca Cook & Oliver Howitt.

The BagCat competition was hotly contested in some age groups but the following swimmers proved to strong and were crowned BAGCAT Champions for 2009

This year was also the first time our top Learn To swim contenders showed off their swimming skills. 5 year old Kai Easen, 6 year olds Andrew Smith, Jayden Daniels, Alex Reeves, Lucy Offord & Leo Ng, 7 year olds Laura Edwards & Ted Usher all dazzled the club swimmers with their ability and racing.

A fantastic way to start a new season and a great competition effortlessly run by the competition team.
