Trio selected for England Talent Development Programme for 2007 / 2008.

Congratulations to the above swimmers who have been selected to attend three England Talent development camps over the next nine months.

The swimmers were selected based on their performances at this years National Competition. The aim of the camps is to monitor the top swimmers in the West of England and to encourage and improve their chances of further success.

Alexander Jones – Selected following 400m FC & 400m Individual Medley
Sophie Hawkins – Selected following 50m and 100m Frontcrawl
Dean Williamson – Selected following 100m and 200m Butterfly

The camps will be predominately skill based. British Swimming envisages the camp to be a stepping stone for the talented swimmers to move forward with their swimming careers, and hopefully onto podium success.

Meanwhile Tigersharks Jazmin Carlin has traveled to Spain to take part in a Long Distance training programme. British swimming have taken a group of Distance swimmers who they hope are the future of female distance swimming in Great Britain.

Jazz will spend two weeks training alongside other top female distance swimmers. She will then return to Swansea to continue her winter preparation for the British Championships in March / April.
